Their US tour this summer comes as Premier League champions City are set to make their first appearances after lifting the league nearly two months ago. Manchester City will look to be fit ahead of that by holding two pre-season friendlies, with the first taking place against Mexican side Club America on Wednesday.
Club America has won its domestic league on 13 occasions, which is a record, placing it one ahead of Guadalajara when it comes to league titles, and will turn their attentions swiftly to the 2022-23 Premier League following their pre-season friendlies, with their next match coming on 23 July against Club Tijuana. Club America will have rare travels having played three League matches by the time their season starts at the beginning of the month -- they lost the final game against Chelsea, 2-1, in yet another pre-season game to a Premier League opponent.
The Manchester City vs Club America pre-season friendly is set to take place at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
